Just like buses two come a once.
Only a few weeks after Seb and Yuri's victory in Monte Carlo, Oliver and his parter Anna won the World Doubles Championship too! How is this possible? Well firstly massive congratulations to all four players. Bone Club is very proud having it's only two Pro's becoming World Champions in a matter of weeks.
Rather like boxing there are alternative federations. Oliver and Anna were victorious in the "1st WBGF Aachen Backgammon Festival Doubles World Champions' whilst Seb and Yuri took the title in the "55th BGWC World Doubles Championship in Monte Carlo."

Oliver had a few words to say about their victory:
"The first Aachen Backgammon Festival Doubles World Champions. I still have no idea how we made it through. At one point in the final our match winning chances were all the way down to 1 in 370 - close to the chance of randomly guessing your long lost uncle's birthday correctly. In another 2 previous matches we were below 10% in one and 4% in the other. The odds of coming back and winning all 3 of these matches is 1 in 92500! Needless to say it was a wild ride and it felt like some supernatural energy was with us when we needed it (Mum?).
I'd like to mention a few things that I'm grateful for. First of all for Marcus as the mastermind behind such a special event. You must have a sick mind to transform your idea into reality and actually do all the back-breaking work to make it happen. Second to Arda and the whole team at Aachen who made the event run so smoothly and in cheerful spirit. Third for all the friends, old and new, who I had a fun time hanging out with. And finally for the perfect doubles partner, Anna Sofía Jørgensen who really raised our game to the next level. We ended up with a pr average of 2.48 over the 9 matches played which shows we made the best match. You have a bright future ahead!"
"I look forward to returning next year to defend our title, hopefully within an expansion of the same theme, with many more players and teams. 'The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have'."
