A Giant Final!!

Congratulations to Oliver Squire for winning the UBC Contender Sweeden!! A huge performance in the finals against the mighty Sebastian Wilkinson.

Bone Club's very own “Backgammon Giants” Oliver Squire and Seb Wilkinson faced off against each other in the Final round of the prestigious UBC Contender in Stockholm, Sweden.

For those of you that don't know, the Ultimate Backgammon Championship (UBC) Contender series is a global circuit of regional qualifiers. Here players compete to become one of the four regional winners who will meet in Monte Carlo for the UBC Contender Semi Finals, which decides who will challenge Zdenek Zizka, the reigning UBC Champion, for the title in Prague. Stockholm hosted the European leg — the 4th and final qualifier in the 2026 series.

This is an Invitation-eligible event where only specific players at the level of master, grand master or wildcard can enter. Seb and Oliver are our resident grand masters who are both incredibly talented and thanks to their skillful moves quickly worked their way through the preliminary round and knockout round to the final. 

After an impressive match it was Oliver who managed to secure the win and will now move on to play the Semi Finals in Monte Carlo. The match scores were:
